Advocacy News PEN American Center President Anthony Appiah Testifies Before Congress on Liu Xiaobo At a hearing of the Congressional-Executive Commission on China, Appiah criticized the Chinese government's attempts to censor information about the awarding of this year's Nobel Peace Prize to Liu Xiaobo and urged the international community to join in demanding his release. >> More China Increases Pressure on Independent Chinese PEN Center Members As part of a campaign to limit information about the awarding of this year's Nobel Peace Prize to Liu Xiaobo, two ICPC members were harassed in recent days, one of them the center's webmaster.
